our son Payson was born. I found out I was pregnant right at the beginning of the futurity year in January and ran her until April. I won $77,000 on her from December ’til April, then didn’t run her again until October and ended up winning about $103,000 on her that year. She was a standout, and I really wanted to ride one of her babies.
“Freckles Ta Fame was the first futurity horse I’d run after leaving Jud’s and going out on my own,” Ashley adds. “He’s owned by Joe and Carla Spitz. I won quite a bit on him and then he went on to the NFR with Shali Lord and has won $475,000+. He’s a really great stallion and the reason I started to get more business from the public.”
Born On Derby Day carried on her parents’ power to win by earning over $300,000—the most Ashley has ever won
on a futurity horse. “I think she won nine futurities, including the 2022 Breeders Challenge Finale Futurity Semi-finals with
a :15.115,” Ashley says. “She’s a great, great horse. Jeff and Andrea Busby of Busby Quarter Horses in Millsap, Texas, bought her and Andrea has done really well on her.”
Born On Derby Day’s 2017 full sister, Famous Cash Can, earned $165,000 with Ashley. “Their mother is my heart horse,” Ashley says. “She holds a very special place in my heart because of how well she performed for me and what her babies have done for my life. She’s the horse that has probably changed the course of my life more than any other horse I’ve ever swung a leg over.”

This year, Ashley has three really nice
futurity horses: Seis On The Chase, Chrome Plated Fame and Fames Dashing Jet.
Seis On The Chase (foaled in 2019 by
Tres Seis and out of Babe On The Chase,
by Chasin Firewater) won almost $100,000 this year. “He’s a phenomenal stallion; I love his personality and he’s a freak of an athlete
as well,” Ashley says. “Chase” is a twin to Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi’s Tres Chasin Babe PZ (produced by double ovulation), who won the Ruby Buckle average this year where Ashley and Chase were Reserve Champions for owner Kelly Tovar.
Chrome Plated Fame (foaled in 2018, Dash Ta Fame-Rods Last Ladybug, Sharp Rodney) is an absolutely phenomenal horse,” says Ashley. “She’s so athletic and so fast and I’ve won over $100,000 on her this year so far.”
Fames Dashing Jet (foaled in 2018, Dash Ta Fame-Guys Dashing Jet, Frenchmans Guy) won the Run At The Rose Futurity this year. “She’s honest and consistent,” Ashley says of the talented bay mare owned by Cathy Geary of Wadsworth, Ohio.
Some of Ashley’s past standouts also include: • Jets Letters Ta Abby (2014, Blazin
Jetolena-Real Famous Abby, Dash Ta Fame), whom Ashley ran for Jeff and Andrea Busby. ”He was a good futurity horse and I won the Pink Buckle Open on him in 2019,” Ashley says. “He ran the fastest time in the Pink Buckle that year and went on to win more with Andrea
