Champion Bull. Memories Of Lil Hero is her first stakes winner and top money earner.
Levings can’t help but savor this result, after taking his lumps while building his organization the past few years.“The learning curve was extremely steep—and expensive,” he said.
Now Memories Of Lil Hero is eligible
for the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown, which has the second leg scheduled
for July 28 at Fair Meadows, followed by the Triple Crown finale at Lone Star in October. However, Levings noted some soreness from his prize gelding coming off this momentous result.
“I’d love to give the Triple Crown a run because I think he has the talent to pull it off. If we do run him, he’ll be a very last minute supplement,” Levings said.
Admiral Tom ApHC (Red Storm Cat QH-Eyesa Knockout), one of two Appaloosas in the nine-horse field, finished second under G. R. Carter Jr. for owner Gary Vaughan and trainer Luis Villafranco.
Son Of A Grip APHA (Iteska Boy-Girls Got Grip) and Daniel Torres finished third for owner TCB Speed Horses and trainer Luz Chavira.
Baileys And Rum APHA (Dominyun QH-Baileys N Sunsets), Logans Mafia
APHA (Capo De Capi QH-Real Easy Effort), Wired For Sound APHA (CRM Livewire-Ze Southern Girl QH), El Fargo APHA (CRM Livewire-Make No Shadows), Teejus Livin ApHC (Cartel Success QH-Boppin Js Fastball) and CL Oooh Sexy Lips APHA (Jess Lips QH-Sexy Senorita) completed the order of finish.
