Along with admiration for breeding great racehorses, Julianna has earned the admiration of those within her circle of associates. “She’s always been loyal to us and stuck with us all these years,” says her veterinarian Gary Aber DVM, who knew Julianna while they both attended Texas Tech. “She runs such a quality operation and she’s so honest and sticks to
her principles. And she runs a strictly live-foal operation — no embryos or anything like that.”
“She’s a great lady to work for,” adds Bennie, who has known Julianna since he worked summers on her father’s Gonzales ranch while in high school. “She’s successful because she

puts a lot of time into studying pedigrees. She determines what crosses she thinks are going to run and also what’s going to sell. And, buyers at the sales know that when they bid on a horse, they’re going to get it; she doesn’t run them, so she doesn’t bring them back home.”

participates in the racing Quarter Horse world,” he says. “She’s always been very supportive. She asks good questions and she provides good input. She’s a very caring, courteous person and she strives to produce the best horses that she can and ensures that all her animals have the best care.
“It starts with her mare selection process,” he adds. “She seems to really research and think out each purchase. She probably takes into consideration, even before she buys a mare, how she’s going to mate that mare for the next few years, and she usually has a team of people who help evaluate the mares’ conformation. She checks their pedigrees, production and
