two legs. Only Tiny’s Gay and Treacherously actually competed in the All American final, finishing second and third, respectively.
Not only will Jess Savin Candy go for the All American Triple Crown, Empressum will be trying to win the Derby Triple Crown. This is the first time ever that both are possible in the same year.
Streelman and Dale purchased Jess Savin Candy for $30,000 at the 2020 Heritage Place Yearling Sale from the consignment Lazy E Ranch LLC, agent for Jim & Donna O’Neal. That has turned out to be an incred- ible bargain, as Jess Savin Candy has already earned $846,400.
Jim and Donna O’Neal bred Jess Savin Candy in Oklahoma from their winning homebred mare Savin Grace. Jess Savin Candy is the first starter out of the stakes- placed mare. His third dam, multiple Graded stakes winner Miss Six Moons, has produced one Graded stakes winner and two stakes-placed runners.
CC Hocks (Kiss My Hocks-Cassandra Crest), ridden by Juan Pulido, trained by Santos Carrizales Jr. and owned by HV Ranch LLC, finished second. In three previ- ous starts, CC Hocks has a first
(in his Rainbow trial), second, and third.
Double Duty (A Revenant-Brickyard Lane TB), owned by Derrol Hubbard and Joan Dale Hubbard, finished in third. Raul Valenzuela rode the filly for trainer Michael Joiner. Double Duty won her trial after finishing third in her racing debut.
Completing the field were FDD Scout (FDD Dynasty-Apollitical Scout), Candy Dice (Jess Good Candy-Fodice), Significant Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Significant Runner), KJ Desparado (Apollitical Jess- Tres Veses), Lethal Avenger (Volcom-Lethal Class), BF Shes Outrageous (Big Daddy Cartel-BF Outrageous), and Lethal Viper (Volcom-Miss Lethal).
