WHISTLE STOP CAFE

Whistle Stop Cafe and her forever owners, Lainie and Ray Whitmire of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, are ambassadors for Quarter Horse racing. Not only has 2020 World Champion Whistle Stop Cafe continued her unbeaten record into the $374,363 Rainbow Oaks at Ruidoso Downs on July 24, she and her owners are recruiting new fans.
In addition to their racehorses, The Whitmires are well established in the cutting horse and barrel racing worlds. Friends of theirs in those disciplines have seen the excitement of Whistle Stop Cafe, and they are following the Whitmires into the sport.
“We have had some cutter friends of ours, Christi and Gary Byrd, who have recently bought some Quarter racing yearlings,” said Lainie. “We’re partners on a couple of them, and then they bought one on their own.”
