Trial #3 –
Race #4 – La Totuga (#5) broke in the lead and held it throughout for a 1/2-length wire-to-wire victory, securing the eighth qualifying spot. WF Heart Throb (#4) followed in second and DTL Hot Wired was third.
La Totuga’s winning connections include owner Randy Chavez, breeder/trainer Ray Enlow and jockey Gonzalo Gutierrez.
Trial #4 –
Race #5 – Fabulous Turnpike (#8) broke in second and dueled throughout to put a neck in front at the wire to grab the fifth qualifying spot. My Name Is (#1) lost the nod at the wire and finished second for the seventh qualifying position. Ken Miles (#4) followed in third.
