Apollitical Crown (Hip No. 383) was purchased for $540,000 by the West Texas Racing Partnership, which won this year’s Grade 1, $3-million All American Futurity with Cowboys Gun Z. Consigned by Rancho el Cabresto Inc., the son of world Champion Apollitical Jess is out of Adolph Tres Knockout, a 14-year-old daughter of Champion Tres Seis and the winner of the 2011 Oklahoma Futurity (G3) at Remington Park. The bay colt is a full brother to
2019 AQHA Champion aged mare As and Js, and a half-brother to stakes winner Shezasecretknockout.
Apollitical Maverick (Hip No. 425) was
the Select Sale’s co-fourth highest seller, as
the Apollitical Jess colt was purchased by
Dale Boydston for $450,000. Consigned by Dunn Ranch, Apollitical Maverick is out
of Send City, an unraced 10-year-old Tres
Seis mare, and he is a full brother to AQHA Supreme Racehorse and two-time Champion of Champions (G1) winner Apollitical Pence. The bay colt’s second dam, the Leaving Memories mare Send Me The Candy, won the 1996 Remington Park Futurity (G1) and foaled Grade 1 winner Send Me A Candy Tree and Grade 3 winner This Candys Special.
Celtic Wonder Boy (Hip No. 265) was purchased for $450,000 by Shaun Hubbard, La
Feliz Montana Ranch and Ray Willis. Consigned by Marty Powers, agent for Kelly Yother Equine, the son of the Apollitical Jess stallion Flying Cowboy 123 is out of Three Green Leaves, an 18-year-old Tres Seis mare who won the 2007 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) at Los Alamitos Racecourse, and he is a half- brother to three stakes winners, including graded stakes winner and 2016 All American Derby (G1) runner-up Celtic Emblem, and graded stakes winner DF Lord Garvan.
The West Texas Racing Partnership was the Select Sale’s leading buyer with nine purchases grossing $2,045,000. Burns Ranch, agent, led all Select Sale consignors with $1,968,000 gross receipts on 23 head sold.
