The wins just keep coming for Danjer. Closing out his five-year-old campaign, the deco- rated gelding snared his fifth Grade 1 stakes win of 2021, pulling away late in the $248,000 Refrigerator Invitational Championship-G1, held Nov. 27 at Lone Star Park.
Danjer logged 5 wins in 7 starts this year, finishing no worse than 2nd. For his career, he now holds 15 victories in 26 starts, with the $133,920 prize from this event pushing his seven-figure bankroll to $1,503,885.
Danjer’s Grade 1 stakes successes in 2021 include the Debbie Schauf Remington Park Invitational in May, the Canterbury Park Challenge in July, the All American Gold Cup at Ruidoso Downs in September, and the AQHA Challenge Championship, which he won for the second consecutive year.
Dean Frey trains Danjer and co-owns the gelding with Downtime Enterprises LLC and Billy G. Smith.
