Jesús “Nuchi” Jiménez Sánchez Classic
FDD ZOOMIN DOLL

With five two-year-old horses born in the United States and non-winners at the time of nomination, this classic was made in honor of the renowned and late horseman born in the State of Sinaloa, Don Jesús Jiménez Sánchez. They also paid $20,000 pesos in registration for the race, which funded the main part of the prize that amounted to $195,500 pesos ($9,307 U.S. approx.).
Only Kiddy Up Lady and Dadies Blazin Dawn had previous experience at the Hipodromo de las Americas, and the former had even finished third in the AQHA Mexico Juvenile Challenge and fourth at the Las Americas Futurity.
However, the triumph went to FDD Zoomin Doll (#2), who had a match-up with Kiddy Up Lady (#1), holding a close duel head-to-head all the way where the maiden FDD Zoomin Doll was victorious by a nose difference in a photo finish, following the correct instructions of her rider Paul Osvaldo Rodríguez García.
At the end of the 300 yards, the clock stopped in :15.53 for the two runners, corresponding to a 78 speed index.
The winner is a daughter of the prestigious stallion FDD Dynasty and out of the mare
Zoomin Doll (by Shazoom). She was raised in the United States by Flag Ranch LLC, who consigned and sold her for
$19,500 at the 2020 Heritage
Place Yearling Sale. Her
buyer, Rachuán Suárez Kuri
(Cuadra El Mashta), brought
her to Mexico and later sold
her to Cuadra Baldeli, her
current owner.
She is trained by Ismael Ayala Salas, with her usual training the responsibility of José Guadalupe
García “Lupillo”.
Special guest at the
awards ceremony was Jesús
Jiménez and his wife, who on behalf of his father, presented the trophies to Ismael Ayala and Paul Osvaldo Rodríguez.
Second place went to Kiddy Up Lady, a daughter of Kiddy Up and Champagne Perry (by Mr Jess Perry), with her rider Yair Daniel Báez Soto. She was trained by Moisés González García and is owned by the Cuadra San Lázaro de Arará.
First Joy (Valiant Hero-BP First Cartel, Corona Cartel) finished third under the
command of Aarón Adrián Gómez. She is the property of the Cuadra H-R and was also
trained by Ismael Ayala Salas. Daddies Blazin Dawn (Big Daddy Cartel-A Blazin
Dawn), who was ridden by Martín Utrera, and Juno Ima Big Daddy (Big Daddy Cartel-Cracydancinflame), with his rider Alejandro Gómez Díaz completed the order of finish.
