In summary, the breeding of the Quarter Horse in Mexico has continued to grow, as well as the interest of breeders to present or sell their foals in this auction, which is the main one nationwide. However, the COVID 19 pandemic prevented the auction from taking place in
2020 and by extending through 2021, it also influenced the sale, creating uncertainty in the market, which was reflected in the percentage
of registered and withdrawn foals, as well as in the low demand in relation to the volume of animals offered.
This situation also influenced a high repurchase rate in those specimens that did not reach the price expected by the breeder, without forgetting that this also occurs when the breeder decides to keep some or all of his assets in property, or by the sales agreements made prior to the auction where he is responsible for buying back the foal in the ring.
GATA MEXICANA: Hip #81 Gata Mexicana was the $52,817 third-high seller, consigned by
Luis Arturo Vázquez.
