Maiden Stakes
I LEAD WHEN I DANCE

 The thirteenth edition of this classic was held on Feb. 27 with the participation of seven maiden runners aged three and older. For this, the owners paid $33,000 pesos for nomination and registration, which went into the purse of the race along with the contribution of $100,000 pesos from the Mexican Administrator of the
Hipodromo, totaling $307,900 pesos ($14,926 U.S. approx.).
Horses and riders traveled the 350
yards neatly. From the beginning Fabulous Laura (#2) and I Lead When I Dance (#3) dominated the field with I Lead When I Dance remaining in front, very close to the inside rail, crossing the wire 1/2-length in front under Aarón Adrián Gómez.
He completed the distance in :17.50 seconds for an 82 speed index, this being
his first victory and third out at the Hipodromo de las Americas, where he debuted on Oct. 7, 2020, after two previous performances at Zia Park, without managing to place. On this occasion he increased his bank account with $153,950 pesos ($7,463 U.S. approx.).
Bred in the United States, by Reliance Ranches LLC, I Lead When I Dance is the son of Corona Cartel out of the mare Charm Dance (by First Down Dash), owned by
the Cuadra El Renacimiento and trained by Ismael Ayala Salas.
Second place went to Fabulous Laura (One Fabulous Eagle-Coco Corona), who was ridden by Alejandro Almazán.
She is owned by the Cuadra Baldeli
and was trained by Nahum de Jesús Lagunes Montero.
El Nuggett Corona (Corona On The Rocks-ETA) was third under Martín Utrera. He is owned by Granja La Esperanza and trained by Gerardo Rafael Galán Pérez.
Nashville Cartel (Corona Cartel- Shazoomin Rose), VF Brave Heart (Dominyun-Brava Brava), BR Chamaco (Southern Corona-Jessaspecialeffort) and Fly Relentless Fly (Hes Relentless-Strawfly Six) completed the order of finish
