The Lyrics
The lyrics of this song capture colonisation from a
different perspective. They evoke imagery of a gentle
wondering at the time of the European colonisation of
Australia. The moment when two cultures met. The
moment that changed the lives of the people who had
lived on the land, cared for it and loved it as their mother
for 65 000 years and the missed opportunity brought
about by lack of respect and ultimately violence.
This unit of work supports conversations for change.
