 — While hemorrhagic obstruction and the subsequent enlargement of the ventricles can occur in utero, congenital obstruction of the ventricular system, by means of aqueductal stenosis, remains the most common cause of hydrocephalus in utero.
— There are also other etiologies of hydrocephalus, including many chromosomal aberrations and intrauterine infections.
