GALLBLADDER CARCINOMA
▪ Gallbladder carcinoma is rare, although it is the most common cancer of the biliary tract.
– It is thought to be caused by chronic irritation of the gallbladder wall by gallstones
– Gallbladder carcinoma is almost always associated with gallstones, and the mass may actually contain gallstones.
▪ Patients may be asymptomatic or may suffer from nausea, vomiting, unexplained weight loss, RUQ pain, jaundice or hepatomegaly.
