Gilbert, named a Bicycle Friendly Community, is well known for its Central Trail System that

offers 135 miles of trails, 54 miles of the marked bike trails ride along the canal system.

There are three trail systems running north-south—Heritage Trail, Santan Vista Trail, and

Marathon Trail—and one that runs east-west Western Powerline Trail. They connect to most

of Gilbert’s parks and parallel the Valley's canal system. Along the trails you will find pocket

parks with shade, drinking fountains, ramadas, and other recreational features.
