The Beauty of Redbuds
S
pring is a magical time of the year
when plants seem to wake up from the
long cold winter and burst into bloom with
pastels and brilliant colors. One of the first native
trees that sheds its winter blues is Cercis canadensis,
our native American Redbud which covers itself in bright
rosy pink, lavender or purple. This small native deciduous tree
thrives in the full sun to partial shade in organically rich, medium
