                                                     ABSTRACT

In this study, a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) ultrafiltration (UF/MF)
membrane was modified by dispersing nano-sized Silver (Ag) particles in a
PVDF solution. PVDF micro fibrous membranes were fabricated by
Electrospinning method. Nonwoven fabric was used as the support layer. This
study investigates the effect of Ag nanoparticles on antibacterial properties of the
membrane, Effect of Electrospinning parameters on membrane permeability.
The experimental result indicates that the addition of Ag nanoparticles increased
the antibacterial properties of the micro-fibrous membrane in addition to
increasing of the hydrophilicity. PVDF membrane fouling was reduced by
changing the membrane surface from hydrophobic to hydrophilic after Ag
                    particles addition.
