Studying Within a New Paradigm
Counsellors, therapists, coaches, and other helping professionals often have a gift for establishing rapport with clients. The style of formal session communication as taught in the Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) Workshop and other Applied Metapsychology courses varies from normal social communication and also from the customary way that many therapists work with clients. Though working in this way may seem strange at first, you will have the opportunity to discover during your workshop how well it supports clients' progress.
For instance, in the Communication Exercises (CE's) we will be doing, we will inspect and practice the separate parts of communication - of which there are eight-, and then put them all together. As you will see, sometimes these exercises require that you act in ways that may seem unnatural at first but you will soon discover for yourself just how powerful those tools of effective engagement are.

Working in a Person-centred way means that:
The viewer is never pushed or contradicted
The facilitator refrains from any interpretation or judgement of the viewer or his/her viewpoint.
The facilitator remains calm, present and appropriate in response to what the viewer
says, giving clear acknowledgements that indicate comprehension, but not adding anything to the viewers experience in the moment.
The viewer arrives at his/her own conclusion which often brings the session to a good end-point
Any ideas why this may not be viewed as person- centred?
