The Southern Sunshine BBQ Fest is set to be held at Lake Wailes Park by the lake in Lake Wales, FL on January 7 & 8, 2022. The festival will host both a PRO event with $10,000 purse and Back- yard event with a $2500 purse. Both of these pay- outs are guaranteed. The event is offering 20, 30, 50 amp power service at no extra power charges but limited to one trailer per team.
This event will be sanctioned by KCBS and will organized by Angela Iversen. Registration is up now on the KCBS website HERE. The entire pur- pose of this event is to raise money for the KT Sunshine Foundation.
This Foundation is named after KT (Kaitlyn Ki-
nard). The foundation
raises money for scholar- ships and families
who are ex- periencing crisis due to unforeseen events. KT’s birthday is the week- end of the event and the event is set to honor her memory.

Our beautiful KT was taken from us in a car crash by a wrong-way driver on March 22, 2020. Her love, Landon, was critically injured and recently released from the hos- pital. The two of them, together, were such a powerful cou- ple with so much love to give, and their lives planned out.
Kaity would have graduated in December, 2020 with her BS degree in Nursing. She was so prepared and ready to help people and had the most caring soul. The idea for a foundation came from Kaity herself; she wanted to start something to assist families in the community.
In an effort to continue Kaity's legacy, the KT Sunshine Foundation was created to be a ray of sunshine for some- one to be her shining light in this world. Kaity was the light in a dark room, the reason we smile and a joy to be around. In her 22 years, she touched so many people and this foundation will continue to touch many more.
