The Northeast Barbecue Society has been involved in BBQ competitions and events since 1994. Anyone interest in or- ganizing a contest can contact NEBS and receive a copy of our Contest Organizer Handbook. This handbook will help provide you with all the information that you need to or- ganize your contest.
By working with NEBS to sanction for your contest, you will get;
•A NEBS Contest Official who will oversee the judging and scoring of your contest. All of our Contest Officials are trained and experienced to ensure that each and every NEBS-Sanctioned event proceeds smoothly, and is con- ducted with the utmost of fairness and integrity.
•A NEBS sanctioning agent who will be available to answer any questions that you may have during the planning of your event.
•A clearly defined set of rules and standardized judging procedures.
•NEBS judging plates and scoring slips, as well as scoring software to tally all scores and determine winners.
•NEBS promotion and advertising within the barbecue community. In addition to being listed on our web site, your event will be advertised in the National Barbecue News and the contest results will also be posted. Additional advertising, such as banner ads are also available.
•If your event meets the criteria, scores from your contest may be included in the NEBS Team of the Year standings, which is a great attraction to competitors.
