tuszewski right behind him as these three break away from the rest of the pack. But the season is still young, and the events are plentiful. Lori Davis and Bobby Oliver, who are the closest to the top three, have their work cut out for them but they can do it. Rylee Wright and Brian Coleman (tied for 6th) along with Brandon Crain and Whitney Hampson (tied for 7th) will not rest on their laurels on their march to the top. Craig Carter, who rounds out the Top 10, is no stranger to competitive cooking and will con- tinue to make his voice heard throughout the rest of summer. Folks, the ancillary points chase is just
heating up.
ACE Hardware Points Chase
WOW! What a difference a month can make when it comes to the points chase. There are new names to the Top 10 as well as some familiar ones. Rest assured, however, this won’t be the last time you hear that statement as the season con- tinues towards the championship. Lead- ing the pack this month is Rusty Hadacek but hot on his heels is Sandy Brown. Can she be, not just the first woman to win back-to-back, but the first person to be crowned two years in a row? Stay tuned for that. If the rest of the field has anything to say about it, we will have to wait for another couple years for this to happen. Because Jessica Barnes, Marc Siemers, Layne Holmes, Scott Nardi and Terry Roan are all cook- ing their hearts out over the summer to see their name on the top of the leader
board. But we can’t count out the rest of the list, all of whom know exactly how to cook a great steak. Ginnie Holmes, Will Col- lier, John Lindsey, Marty Plute and last year’s runner-up, Tim Brown are all going to make it very hard for anyone else to win this year’s championship. I can’t wait to see how the summer turns out.
Congratulations Matt Ouverson
Matt has proven once again why he is a Champion. Not only does he consistently finish in the top 10 of any contest he enters. This one particular oc-
casion in Bondurant, IA he finished in the top spot with a perfect score of 254.5, earning the moniker of “Mr. Perfect.” Matt is the very first person to achieve this accomplishment and we wanted to say “Congratulations” to him.
