mortar restaurant at
135 W. Main St. in
Spindale, NC, with less
than 5,000 residents
and neighboring town
of Forest City. First
cousin Dale Roberson
is the General Man-
ager and keeps it all in
the family. Tim says,
“What a ride it has
been!” His wife Anna
underwent brain sur-
gery on December 13,
2019 but continued
with severe migraines
and was still recuper-
ating. A month after
opening Circle B Bar-B-Que, they were ordered by the governor to revert to “TO-GO” orders only. Businesses were closing every- where because of COVID fears.
The City of Spindale Revitalization Project began soon after opening and the restaurant was forced to close some days due to the road mess. Of course, it’s great now that it is completed and the business and customers enjoy the added beauty and conven- ience. There were more challenges, as you can imagine, being a new business, but these were not normal everyday challenges that were expected in advance of opening.
The Brigman Family just buckled down the hatches and opened one day at a time with faith and believing, as Tim put it, “With our blood, sweat and tears anything is possible.” We also must give a shout-out to Floridian Rob “Rub” Bagby with Swamp Boy’s BBQ, for his sponsorship and his fantastic BBQ School.
It’s a little over two years later and the Circle B Bar-B-Que Restaurant, Food Truck, and Catering business is booming! When asked to list the top five reasons for their success, Tim found it easy to say God, Family, Passion, People and our Community! The family continues to thank the people of Rutherford County and
surrounding areas for allowing their family to serve them the past two years. Along the way, their business has been able to give back to the community by donating food for families in need, support- ing the local athletes and schools, and assisting those who just needed help in different ways. Tim humbly said, “It’s a good feeling to give back to those who have given to us.”
The Brigman Family looks forward to the future as they continue to grow and have partnered with the Forest City Owls as a sponsor. Anna continues to be faced with health problems but has been able to find some helpful medical ad- vice in just the past few weeks — all prayers accepted. “We give the
praise and honor to God and our business continues to be based on faith as we want to continue to be there for others as we serve our award winning BBQ and homemade sides in the years to come,” says Tim. As always, they will con- tinue to move forward one day at a time. Their sons, Robert and Nathan, are now 15 and 18 years old and continue to work side- by-side in the family
business and first cousin Dale Robertson makes things happen every day as our GM.
There is more on their Facebook page — Circle B BBQ LLC and on the website www.circlebbbq.com. They are open Tuesday thru Saturday and provide catering for 50 to 500 people with the food truck operating on special occasions.
