I know we are stronger when we all work together...just like a chain. We all have links in our lives that make us complete. Family, friends, co-workers, and events are only a few of these links that make up our individual chain.
Life can get tough when we start seeing these links change or some links start falling away. Missing links are always the
toughest to overcome. Just like the chain with missing links, we are weaker until we can get the entire chain back together again. Even after we fix our chain, those missing links are never entirely replaced but repaired so we can begin to function again.
Recently our #BBQfamily has lost several links that make us the strong chain we have become. These missing links were once the steel and strength that bonded us together by setting examples for those who might have been a weaker link. We can make our links stronger, but we have to duplicate those past links to achieve this task.
Things are changing at a rapid pace in the chain of life. Now is the time to reflect upon these missing links so we can see and under- stand why they were considered to be the strong links. Now is the time to start sharing with these weaker links what our missing links were made of so they can help make our #BBQfamily chain stronger than ever!
One of these new missing links is George Stone from the famed Cool Smoke barbecue competition team. George, 79, passed March 19, 2020. Our entire #BBQfamily will surely miss this unforgettable link.
Barbecue News Magazine contributor Daren Proctor summed up our thoughts very well with this statement: “Getting to know George was truly an honor. It was always
nice to be able to talk to him at every event that he and Tuffy at- tended. George became a familiar face that many knew they could speak to him. He was such a kind, good-hearted person and would help anyone who needed it. #BBQfamily”
