THOUGHTS FROM THE MIND OF AN OLD BBQ GUY

Best BBQ story ever (saw it on a t-shirt) "A pig, a cow, and a chicken walked into a BBQ joint. The end."
My favorite Marine is getting married this weekend and we are cooking for both the rehearsal and the wedding. I have talked about Taryn Escott previously and lots of folks met her while she worked with us. She is marrying a Marine and I know these two will live a happy life together. Brisket is her favorite, so we have three different 21-pound enormous briskets on the menu.
Oh...by the way...Be careful when cooking burgers or hot dogs on your flat top griddle. Make sure it is not to close to your wood door on the back of your trailer. Where there is smoke, there is a burning tailgate!
Meadow Creek BBQ Grills has made a steak cooking grill that is sharp looking. After several practice runs, it is time to cook a few competitions on it. The one I have is all stainless steel, comes with grill grates, and is very sleek. I will post results after the next few cooks to keep you up.
We had a couple customers who ate with us the other day and they said they loved pulled pork more than anything. They told us
they had eaten all over the country and had several favorite spots to eat. After they were done eating, they waited in line to inform us, "It was the best pulled pork we have ever had." Now that will make your day!
Pork chops on the Meadow Creek chicken flipper might be the best thing we have ever cooked!
Sous-vide is a new cooking addiction. More on that soon, without a doubt!
Venice Suncoast BBQ Bash is coming soon. Cooking with the kids is my favorite event of the year.
Cooking without garlic is a new twist for us. We have several cus- tomers that are allergic to garlic, and because of that, we have fig- ured out everything we cook contains garlic as an ingredient!
In the past, I mostly used disposable cutting boards. This has changed since Shawn Eames made me some beautiful wood cut- ting boards. I wanted to hang them on the wall and admire his handy work, but he told me I had to use them! Now that I have started using them, I really like them. Shawn is Wendy and Rich's
son, who cooks under the cool name of "The Flying Pig Duck- ers."
I sure do miss Mike Byrd and the Kick the Tire, Light The Fire BBQ team.
Why can’t people respect our flag, our country, our police, and our president? I know I do.
Does anybody else think Shakira shook more then J-Lo?
I want to have president Trump over for a BBQ. I would love to hear him say, "The BBQ Was Perfect!"
If you follow baseball, you gotta hear this. The New York Mets will win the World Series
