I have not had similar luck tracking down the other brothers, John, Thomas and Robert.
But we can confirm these three siblings; Peggy, Joseph and Morgan. I can find DNA matches to all of them. I can also find documentation for all of them and to their families, even if the documentation does not link them directly to us.
BUT WHAT ABOUT GUY BRYAN AND THE THRULINES MATCH???
Clyde does not mention the name Guy as one of the siblings. There is DNA evidence of a small match to Guy’s daughter, Jemima Bryan.
But this relationship to Guy Bryan is problematic partially because it is so small and partially because it appears that we may also be related to his wife, Mildred Asher and the Asher family.
Evidence also suggests that Guy’s father’s name was Josiah Bryan, not Thomas. There is strong documentation of a relationship between Guy Bryan and a man named Josiah Bryan, whose wife was Sarah. I am very doubtful that there is a sibling relationship to Guy. He might have been a cousin. YDNA testing of one of his male descendants would answer that question.
THE WILMINGTON HOSPITAL LIST
Larry Bryan has also discovered another piece of compelling evidence that tends to corroborate Clyde’s report. It is compelling for two reasons:
1. It names three Bryans (actually Bryant’s) whose names would fit into Clyde’s list of siblings, John, Thomas, Jr. and Robert.
2. Francis Bryan was bound, or apprenticed, with Thomas Blair at his forge near Grayson, Virginia. Peggy Bryan married Alexander Sutherland and they lived in Grayson, Virginia. The three Bryants mentioned above are found listed together in Wilmington Hospital with both Thomas Blair and Alexander Sutherland in 1781. Apparently all Loyalists.
Alexander Sutherland fought for the British Army. Thomas Blair was known to be a Loyalist. It appears that John, Thomas, Jr. and Robert might also have been Loyalists.
