Page 76 - The Ancestry of Francis Bryan (1770-1863)

On the following page is the Profile Graph produced by Shelley Caldwell for this particular project but omits the names of the matches. In order to understand the graph it is necessary to understand how the participants were grouped. Remember that ICW means "In Common With". On page 122 in the Appendix I have included Shelley's original inclusion chart.
Group One (turquoise dot): William Bryan but not Strode Family Line.
Looking for ICW matches between the participant who descends from
William Bryan but not Margaret Strode, the five descendants of Francis Bryan and the three descendants of his brothers (Joseph and Morgan) who all share the same mother, Margaret Strode Bryan. But excluding the descendant of sister Peggy Bryan Alexander, since we believe that she was not a child of Margaret Strode Bryan, but rather of a different mother. Clearly a strong relationship. Lots of turquoise dots!
Group Two (pink dot): Francis Bryan/William Bryan and Strode Line.
The same as Group One except excluding the William Bryan descendant as well as excluding sister Peggy Bryan Alexander's descendant. This researches the relationship between Francis and his two brothers and would include the Strode relationship as they are the only participants with a Strode common ancestor, Margaret Strode.
Group Three: (bright green dot): Thomas Bryan Line
Looking for ICW matches between the five descendants of Francis Bryan.
Including one descendant of sister Peggy Bryan Alexander and including the three descendants of Francis' brothers. Excluding the William Bryan participant. This represents the children of Thomas Bryan regardless of the mother's identity.
Group Four (dark green dot): Francis Bryan Line.
Looking for ICW matches only between the five descendants of Francis Bryan and Phoebe Woodruff. Excluding the descendants of all of Francis' siblings and excluding the descendant of William Bryan. These matches tend to cluster in the upper portion of the chart.
Group Five (Both orange and purple dots): Peggy Bryan/William Bryan Line
Looking for ICW matches just between the one descendant of Peggy Bryan Alexander and the one descendant of William Bryan (but not Margaret Strode). Looking for matches in common between just the two of them, excluding everyone else. Notice how few there are. Suggests that Peggy Bryan Alexander was not related to William Bryan.
