Adjacent is the wonderful dining room, again with a period fireplace, and lovely views across the rear garden. The functional kitchen – complete with hatch for those decadent dinner parties prior to the war – is still very much in period style when storage was paramount, with a walk- in larder and storeroom, complete with a tiled alcove, which would have been built to accommodate an Aga. One of the most fabulous features is a quite spectacular oak staircase, complete with polished chrome handrail and beautiful joinery details. A split-level landing leads to the first floor, home to three bedrooms, with further decorative fireplaces, Art Deco door handles, metal light fittings and those wonderful curved windows again.
