MEET HARRY DIAMOND. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely chap via email, then got to mooch around his home, hear his fascinating story and share some of his passions. A bit of natural history, a scientific curio and the macabre – with a bit of industrial thrown in – he’s definitely our kind of man!
Harry, how did you end up surrounded by all this crazy stuff?
“I’ve always collected, for as long as I can remember. Coming from a family involved in the jewellery and antiques trade for three generations, you could say it was in my blood! After leaving school I became a music producer but, after 14 years of burning the candle at both ends, I swapped to take the collecting more ser- iously and the music more as a hobby.
“Collecting’s an obsession that I can’t live without
but don’t particularly understand! It’s just objects at
the end of the day but when I see something that I
like, I can’t stop thinking about it. I get complete tun-
nel vision. I will do everything and anything within my power until I own it, no matter what. q
