q 75 per cent collector and 25 per cent dealer. It used to be a lot worse – I get terribly attached to the objects and don’t enjoy the event of selling at all. However I am learning to be better at it.”
Where does this passion come from?
“I am a highly creative person. It’s what drives me. I have to have a project on the go that I can think about at all times otherwise I feel like I’m lost. And it has to be done right, no corners cut – even at the possibility of losing money, or not making as much. It’s more about creating something beautiful and unique for me. I’m not commercially minded at all. What I really enjoy doing is displaying the objects and creating unique environments.”
Where do you draw inspiration from?
“I often literally dream my ideas up – I frequently wake up in the middle of the night and start moving things around, much to the disapproval of my girlfriend!
“I also take huge inspiration from film directors
such as Tim Burton, Peter Jackson – and especially Guillermo Del Toro. Their attention to detail is second
to none: I find it fascinating and inspirational the level these people go to, to achieve the look they want. Even q if it’s not ever seen on screen, everything has to be
