“I read about the art of the film - what went on behind the scenes. Every item has a backstory and has been thought about, which you would never know unless you read about the making of the movie. Films like Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, Pacific Rim, Sleepy Hollow, The Lord Of The Rings, all have huge meaning to me. I never get bored of watching them.”
Casting around for an encapsulation of your ‘look’, the best I could come up with was ‘Decorative’ – what do you think?
“Perhaps. I don’t follow trends or even read many design magazines, as I think they’re all the same. I just like what I like and do my own thing (much like VE - Ed ). My inspiration comes from books, movies, music and nature.
and the dark. Some people get it, others don’t, but that’s OK.
“It’s a collecting obsession trying to cre- ate my own unique look. I love seeing other people’s collections that have their own style as I totally understand the thought process behind it.”
What do family and friends think about your home?
“My parents think my house is more like a museum. Even though I’ve run out of space I’m refusing to stop or slow down. Onwards and upwards! But I have a showroom as well now for the larger, heavier items that I can’t get up the stairs. Generally the things in the showroom are for sale... if I can bear to let them go.” ve
