Use Simple Present Tense
Use formal language or not slang
Targeted subject line, include the job title and branding statement
Explain the obvious reason why you are writing in opening statement
Explain your accomplishments which the company may need it to hire you

PARTS OF AN APPLICATION LETTER
1. Your address
2. The address of the company you are writing to . Use complete title and
address, don’t abbreviation.
3. Greeting
Begin your letter with “Ms/Mrs/Mr” lastname”, if you don’t know the
employer’s name, simply write “Dear Hiring manager” or leave the
greeting off the letter and start with the first paragraph.
4. Body of Letter
First Paragraph: Explain why you are writing - mention the job you
are applying for and where you found the listing.
Middle Paragraph: State what you have to offer the employer -
mention why your skills and experiences are a good fit for the job.
For each skill or quality you mention, provide a specific example. Do
not simply restate what is contained in your resume, but give strong
reason why you are suited to the position.
Last Paragraph: Say thank you to the hiring manager for considering
you and note how you will follow up. One possibility is to ask for an
interview appoinment time. Make it easy for the personal
