LIGHT INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE | CORE
STARBUCKS DISTRIBUTION CENTER
The Carson Valley Distribution Center project, built for the Starbucks Coffee
Company, included the new construction of a 712,000 square foot warehouse
addition to the Starbucks campus located in Minden, NV. The facility supports
the streamlining for regional coffee bean sourcing in the distribution center and
increased roasting capacity at the roasting plant, which roasts 100 million pounds
of beans annually. The warehouse was constructed on a foundation consisting
of concrete spread footings and walls and a structural steel frame. An exterior of
tilt-up concrete panels and thermoplastic polyolefin roofing over bar joists and
metal deck completed the construction. The project also included 300 external
semi-truck trailer parking spaces, 35 industrial loading docks, internal offices, a
guard shack, and truck entrance gates. Due to CORE’s PreConstruction services,
comprehensive planning and safe execution in the field, Starbucks received
$275,000 in project savings at the Carson Valley Distribution Center’s completion.
