7. HOLIDAYS & OTHER LEAVE
One day paid leave will be granted to attend the funeral of a close family member. Any requirement for further leave should be discussed with your line manager who will authorise a period of unpaid leave should the circumstances make this necessary.
7.4 Jury Service
If you are required to attend for Jury Service, please inform your Manger as soon as possible and provide a copy of your letter. Your period of Jury Service will be unpaid but you will be entitled to claim for your loss of earnings through the court. A form will be provided to assist you with this which should be sent to the people and training department for completion and verification.
7.5 Maternity Procedures
All expectant mothers are entitled to a period of Maternity Leave and have a guaranteed right to return to work, regardless of their length of service. As soon as you feel confident of your condition, we would ask that you inform your line manager in writing.
They will advise the people and training department and ensure that we send you all the relevant information with regard to your current rights and responsibilities at work. Your line manager should also carry out a regular series of Risk Assessments to ensure your health and safety is adequately protected.
7.6 Paternity Leave
Thomas Franks adhere to the statutory policy regarding paternity leave as a minimum all new fathers are entitled to a period of two weeks paid. Paternity Leave which can be taken in either two separate or two consecutive blocks of one week, following the birth of a child. The rate of Paternity Pay and length of paternity leave will be available from the people & training department and is subject to changes in current legislation.
It is your duty to inform your line manager as soon as possible of the likely dates of such leave, although we understand that circumstances would dictate that some flexibility may be required with the exact timing. In any event, we would ask that you complete a Leave Request Form, giving your approximate dates and your partners Expected Date of Childbirth (E.D.C.) .
