NARRATOR
DESTRUCTION
After the party, Clara lingers in the ballroom with the
Nutcracker.
CLARA
TELL ME, TELL ME. WHAT IS THAT LOOK ON YOUR FACE? TELL ME, TELL ME. IS THIS A TEAR AND ITS' TRACE? IS YOUR WOODEN HEART BEATING?
STRONG AND TRUE AND CALLING ME TO YOU?
OR AM I ONLY SADLY, MADLY WISHING IT WERE TRUE?
NARRATOR
As Clara falls asleep the Mouse Prince and his henchmen
sneak downstairs.
CLARA
COULD COME TRUE.
MOUSE PRINCE/REGINALD RHATT
COULD COME TRUE.
CLARA
COME TRUE.
MOUSE PRINCE/REGINALD RHATT
IT WON'T COME TRUE.
NARRATOR
Clara dreams Drosselmeir calls to her.
DROSSELMEIR
MY LAND IS WAITING, ANTICIPATING. REACH OUT AND CALL HIM.
BRING HIM TO ME.
HIS HEART IS WAITING, ANTICIPATING. REACH OUT AND CALL HIM.
BELIEVE IN HIM.
