SNOW
And the curtain falls on Act One as Clara and the
Nutcracker climb into Drosselmeir's sleigh.
NARRATOR
Act Two opens as Drosselmeir returns to the Land of
Sweets only to find it covered in deep drifts of snow
brought on by the Mouse Queen's fit of anger. A
frostbit, rag tag group of SWEETIES freedom fighters
shiver as they watch and wait.
SWEETIES
CRISIS THE MICES HAVE ICED US NOW LOOK AT US. FROST BIT AND FROZEN AND FIGHTING SNOWFALL SERIOUS. SHIV'RING. SHAKING. IN NEED OF SOME STIMULUS.
NARRATOR
Drosselmeir is shocked by the power of the Mouse Queen.
DROSSELMEIR
MY WORST FEARS WERE FAR FROM WRONG. KRAKATUK PROVES TWICE AS STRONG.
ON THIS BLOW WE DARE NOT DWELL. PRAY THAT CLARA BREAKS THE SPELL.
NARRATOR
As if in answer to his prayer, the funeral dirge for the
Mouse Prince echoes through the forest.
MICE
WOE IS US!
NARRATOR
In the distance the mice can be seen bearing his body to
his mother, the Queen.
