Drosselmeir to the Stahlbaums’ front door.
MOUSE PRINCE/REGINALD RHATT
OUT OF THE COLD, DOWN TO THE TOWN,
OFF OF THE WALK, WE WILL FIND WHERE YOU ARE.
UP TO THE DOOR, BY YOUR SIDE NEVER FAR.
WHO CAN I USE?
HOW WILL I KNOW?
FIND ME THE ONE I CAN MOLD TO MY WILL.
NARRATOR
The Mouse Prince eyes light up as three rambunctious
boys accost Drosselmeir.
BOYS
UNCLE, UNCLE. PLEASE DID YOU BRING US TOYS?
NARRATOR
Through the magic of stagecraft, the mansion façade
peels away to reveal all three stories of the house as
the Boys drag Drosselmeir to the ballroom, where they
join the other guests. Upstairs, Clara takes off her
ribbons and shakes out her curls - and the Mice sneak up
into the attic where they can spy on the boys.
