Born and raised in Newcastle, NSW, Commander Seltickjoinedthe Royal Australian Navy in January 1994. After graduating from the Australian Defence Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science,shespentherearlywatchkeeping years in Frigates, Patrol Boats and MinehunterCoastal vessels.
In2001shespecialisedasa LongN navigator and undertook NavigatingOfficerduties in the Frigates HMA Ships Adelaide (FFG-01)
and Canberra(FFG-02).She graduated as
a PrincipleWarfareOfficerin2004,joined HMAS Kanimbla(LPA-51)and laterdeployed to Operation SUMATRA ASSIST following the 2004 Boxing DayTsunami. She undertook
. AdvancedNavigationtrainingin2005. Promoted to LieutenantCommander in
2006, she joined the RAN Sea Training Group whereshewasresponsibleforaccrediting thefirstRANElectronicNavigationDisplay SystemsinRoyalAustralianNavypatrol boats. In 2008 she assumed command
of Patrol Boat Crew ARDENT TWO and had charge of two Armidale Class Patrol Boats, HMAS Bundaberg(l\CPB-91) and HMAS Childers (ACPB-93) on a rotational basis.
InJuly2010shejoinedFleetHeadquarters, as Staff Officer Navigation and Seamanship and supported the Fleet'sfinaltransition
to Electronic Navigation. Promoted to Commander inJanuary 2013, she undertook staff duties with Commander Mine Warfare, Hydrographic and Patrol Force and, in January 2017, she was appointed as ChiefofStafftoCommodore Warfare.
Commander Sellick assumed command of HMAS Newcastleon9January2018and
underhercommand, Newcastlecompleted INDO-PACIFIC ENDEAVOUR 2019.Asa proud Novacastrian she will have the honour of decommissioning Newcastle.
Commander SellickismarriedtoNigel
and together they have two children. For meritorious service, she was awarded a Conspicuous Service Medal (CSM) inthe 2013 Queen's Birthday Honours; and holds a Chief of Joint Operations Group Commendation for her actions in command ofARDENT TWO. She isa graduate ofthe Universityof New South Wales and holds
a BachelorofScience(Oceanography/ Computer Science),and isprogressing her Master of Business Administration.
