                                                                                              Richard Gunther
The ruby-throated hummingbird weighs about 0.1 of an ounce -
so light it you held it in your hand you would hardly notice!
It nests in North America but spends winter in Mexico.
To get there it has to cross the Gulf of Mexico, a distance of
               about 620 miles.
At the end of winter it flies back - so it does the crossing twice.
To cross the Gulf it flaps its wings 75 times PER SECOND.
This means it does SIX MILLION WINGBEATS WITHOUT STOPPING!
Before it takes off, it stores fat in its body - otherwise it would
never make it across the wide, dangerous ocean.
How does this bird KNOW it has to store a specific amount of fat
before it makes its first journey?
If in the past a hummingbird failed to prepare its body, it would
perish, which begs the question - how did any hummingbird
ever make it across the Gulf of Mexico?.
If a bird DID make the trip, how would it instruct other birds?
If a bird DID make the trip, how would it tell its young what to do?
The answer: God pre-programmed the birds, and gave them the
wisdom, the provisions, and the skills,
to do what He called them to do.
