Office Bearers 2021
Greetings from Tasmania,
As we head into the Tasmanian show run 2021 / 2022 and 5 shows have cancelled with the possibility of 2 more this side of Christmas.
Reduced crowd numbers of 5000, volunteers thin on the ground and the threat of immediate lockdowns should we have an outbreak have weighed heavy on these committees.
On the bright side we still have Hobart Show forging ahead for their 200th Show; showmen & women are very resourceful, so we will survive.
A big thank you to the federal Agricultural department for their grant for guild fees and rent assistance only hope we can achieve a rollover plan for cancelled shows 2022 / 2023.
It was wonderful to see guilds across Australia coming together to help implement this grant. It is my belief; we once again need to bring back a national body for guilds around Australia, to help with the insurance issues etc.
A very big thank you Justine Sinclair and Marjorie Chant and the VSG, on behalf of Tasmanian members for their solid input and consolation into the Government grant. Amazing ladies!
A positive attitude & thoughts will get us as travelling showmen & women over the line.
Stay safe, succeed with the events we have left across Australia.

Implementing of Covid plans for this state has taken its toll on show societies and their committees.
