CLEAN WATER
At the forefront of our Table Rock Lake clean water initiative are numerous
marinas that participate in the Missouri Clean Marina program. The Clean Ma-
rina voluntary program encourages marina operators and recreational boaters
to protect water quality by engaging in environmentally sound operating and
maintenance procedures. The goal of this program is to improve and protect
the water quality of Table Rock Lake.
Participating in the Clean Marina Program
helps our marinas to publicly demonstrate
that they are taking actions in being good
stewards of water quality, including pro-
moting water quality stewardship to their
patrons.
The marinas are highly committed to pro-
tecting our water resources and promoting
environmentally sound boating practices in
order to fulfill the necessary requirements
to obtain and uphold the title “Missouri
Clean Marina.” Each marina and its employ-
ees pledge to instill positive change by using best management practices that
will lead to reduction in the sources and impacts of non-point source pollution.
As the initial step toward achieving the designation as a “Missouri Clean Ma-
rina,” this marina pledges to keep Missouri’s water free of harmful chemicals,
excess nutrients, and debris.
In addition, the marinas identify opportunities and implement practices crucial
to the controlling of potential pollution associated with activities taking place
at this facility, enhancing the surrounding environment, and encouraging re-
sponsible boating practices as recommended in the Missouri Clean Marina
Program.
