Hand Torches

EGL supplies a variety of hand torches that use either brass or stainless
steel burner tips. All tips are replaceable, allowing the torch body to
be reused. Each style of hand torch has different spaces between the
two burner tips for slicing and tipping.

EGL Neon Excellent for clear red units,or for coated tubing.
Hand Torches

EGL Argon For low-voltage fluorescent tubes and fluorescent lamps. Mercury required. Not recommended for Type
outdoor use.
SPLICING TORCH NO. 1 with #81 oblong “fishtail” burners for splicing 10-25 mm glass
EGL Blue EGL’s standard mixture for warmer climates — used in clear or fluorescent-coated tubing with COMBINATION SPLICING/TIPPING TORCH No. 2 with #228 oblong “fishtail” burners for splicing smaller diameter glass(up to

EGL Flushing Helium The finest and safest gas for preliminary bombarding, or for flushing-out repair units.

EGL Helium For clear glass tubes – giving pale flesh-pink color, or – when using noviol-coated tubing, a warm
gold tone. Must be used at a lower pressure than normal (4-6 mm typically).
