United States, although Medigap Plans F and L do provide some benefits for medical
               emergencies in foreign countries.

               Analysis

As you know, if you decide to get a Medigap policy you will pay much higher premiums but will
not have to worry about network restrictions, securing referrals to see specialists, or getting
prior approvals for some tests and procedures. With a Medigap policy, you pay more in order to
reduce your risk. In Advantage plans, on the other hand, you can save money if you avoid
expensive treatments, but your out-of-pocket risk is much higher.

Isaac, after you’ve reviewed the evaluation please let me know if you have questions. There are
a couple of things to keep in mind as you make the transition to Medicare for your primary
coverage. On your initial visits to your doctors after November 1, show the office staff your new
enrollment cards for Medicare (A&B) and the health plan you’ve chosen. That will help to avoid
               any billing confusion.

On your first visit to the pharmacy, show the pharmacist the enrollment card for your Part D
coverage, which will make things go more smoothly if your doctor calls in a prescription for you.
Also, you’re entitled to a free “Welcome to Medicare” physical (see page 11 of the evaluation),
but you’ll probably have to request it.

                                                   Sincerely,

                                                   David Armes, CFP®
