Assorted filtering materials: biological filter support

UBBINK® filtration enables successful elimination of bacteria, colour, turbidity and indi-
rectly some odours through the use of various filter materials such as foam filters retai-
ning suspended solids as well as insoluble and filter-water resistant free granules or
occasional solids which may settle on them.
UBBINK® has developed a range of granulated filter materials that meet the “Clear
          Water” guarantee.

       AquaPeat®
AquaPeat® is a biologically active filter material, with a natural composition based on humic acid peat and trace elements reducing the water pH and
preventing the proliferation of algae in the pond. AquaPeat® is used by pouring it directly into the filter body or into plant containers or onto the
       bottom of the pond.

       Zeolith®
Zeolith® (clinoptilolite form) is a natural biologically-based filter material based on porous minerals composed largely of silica and aluminium that
absorbs heavy metals and ammonia. Zeolith® should be placed in the appropriate mesh inside the filter body between the mechanical function
foam filters and the biological function filter materials.

Zeolith® becomes saturated fairly quickly and remains active for 2 to 3 weeks if the level of ammonia is
extremely high. It is therefore necessary to carry out a test regularly by replacing Zelolith® as often as
necessary until the ammonis has been eliminated. Do not use Zeolith® permanently.ly.

       FilterCeramic®

FilterCeramic® is a biologically active filter material with a natural ceramic composition cut into small cylinders of different sizes each pierced by
a hole for a uniform water flow while creating variations in the flow and velocity of the water. FilterCeramic® thus offers a large surface area for
nitrifying bacterial colonization and provides better oxygenation and purifying properties.
