– Forces that shake Church foundations

Since the mid 1950’s, the ancient Biblical Prophecy of
the latter day apostasy and the great falling away has
            begun to be steadily fulfilled

(2 Thessalonians 2:1-12). Since that tipping point in
time, one can track the steady changes in worship and

teachings of true Biblical doctrine. Such changes are
resulting as apostasy and the falling away continues to

increase. As this occurs, portions of the Church Body are
altering their policies and teachings in response to an

increasingly hostile secular world. This is inducing cracks
in their foundations. Let’s consider a few of these
            foundation issues:

New Age and Postmodern Thinking – By the 1970s, the

growing apostasy that began in the 1950s brought on
new concepts that influenced teachings. Such concepts

included New Age and Post-Modern thinking. These
ideologies began to infiltrate and alter the doctrines and
teachings within some Church groups. These church

bodies began to rethink age old doctrines that strictly
adhered to the infallibility of Biblical Scripture. For

example, some discounted the Old Testament’s
relevance to modern Christianity; others emphasized

“good news” and “prosperity” teachings, while ignoring
the need for repentance. Others questioned the

existence of “hell” for which the Bible is unambiguous.
