Appendix 1 – The Bible and “Race”
The Bible makes no distinction for race or color.
Genesis 1:27 – So God created human beings in his own
image. In the image of God he created them; male and
female he created them.
Leviticus 19:34 – Treat them like native-born Israelites,
and love them as you love yourself. Remember that you
were once foreigners living in the land of Egypt. I am the
Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 10:17 – “For the Lord your God is the God
of gods and Lord of lords. He is the great God, the
mighty and awesome God, who shows no partiality and
cannot be bribed.
Malachi 2:10 – Are we not all children of the same
Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then
why do we betray each other, violating the covenant of
our ancestors?
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge
by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The
Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People
judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the
heart.”
