Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge
crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off

every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that
so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the
race GOD has set before us. We do this by keeping our
eyes on JESUS, the champion who initiates and perfects
our faith. Because of the joy awaiting HIM, HE endured
the cross, disregarding its shame. Now HE is seated in
the place of honor besides GOD’s throne.

Biblical Self-Identity
As we stated in Chapter 2, there is a clear difference

between our self-identity based on secular constructs
and that which is anchored in Biblical Truth. We can

rejoice in the truth that our identity is not so shallow, as
the color of our skin, or as fleeting as an erratic
definition designed to divide us. It is not based on self-

worth. It is based on GOD-worth. 13 It is not a matter of
who we are; it is a matter of WHOSE we are!

Holiness must be our goal – Holiness is the standard by

which the Sanctified Church Bodies are designed to live,
demonstrate, teach, and govern all things. Holiness is

revealed within us by the fruit of the Spirit that we
show; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-
