poor and needy (Matthew 6:1-4). Contrary to the

“Great Society,” GOD’s Kingdom can only be advanced
when people are set free. Therefore, Christians must be
diligent to join and support efforts that assist and uplift

the poor; provided such efforts are consistent with
Biblical principles. Specifically, the result must uplift and

set free – not hopelessly enslave or entrap.

Biblically, GOD expects us to compassionately and
humbly extend assistance to the poor and needy in a
manner that enables them to be who GOD has created

them to be. GOD’s way leads them to gain self-respect
that comes with the dignity of working to become

            productively independent and self-sufficient. The
Apostle Paul clearly affirmed (II Thessalonians 3:6-15)

this principle. Furthermore, the charge to care for the
poor and needy is relegated to the church. Not the

government! The reason for this is to avoid the
government becoming an idol to those under their care.

In these cases, the government becomes their god.
Clearly, this is the deceptive influence of the Dark Realm.

As Christians, we are called to be humbly charitable to
those who cannot help themselves. However, we must

not be deceived by political candidates who are posing
as the sole protagonists for the poor and needy; yet are

seeking to cement their own power. Godliness is not
