Safeguarding of jewellery and watches
It is a condition that all jewellery (including watches) of which the value of any one item exceed R25 000 (twenty five thousand rand) must be kept in a locked safe, strong room or strong box which is affixed to the floor or structural wall of the building, when not worn on or by the person;
PROVIDED THAT:
any single item (or set) of jewellery (including watches) with a value exceeding R25 000 (twenty five thousand rand) per item/set must have a valuation certificate issued by a reputable jeweller which certificate may not date back longer than 5 (five) years.
Stamp and coin collections
The Company will pay for accidental loss or damage to the insured’s stamp or coin collections inside the insured dwelling up to an amount of R5 000 (five thousand rand).
Storage for contents after loss
The insurance under this Section is extended to include all costs and expenses incurred by the Insured in effecting such storage and by taking such temporary measures as may be reasonably necessary after loss of or damage to the insured property by any peril hereby insured against;
PROVIDED THAT:
the liability of the Company for such loss or damage and costs and expenses shall not exceed in the aggregate R5 000 (five thousand rand) during any one insurance period.
Temporary removal
Except in so far as it is otherwise insured the property insured is covered whilst temporarily removed elsewhere on the premises stated in the Schedule or to any other premises including transit by road, rail or inland waterway anywhere within the Republic of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique and Malawi;
PROVIDED THAT:
1. unless such temporary removal is for the purpose of cleaning, renovation, repair or similar process, the liability of the Company shall not exceed R15 000 (fifteen thousand rand);
2. the amount payable under this Clause shall not exceed the amount that would have been payable had the loss occurred on the part of the premises from which the property is temporarily removed.
Tenants Liability
All sums which the Insured shall become legally liable to pay to the landlord of the insured Premises arising from loss or damage by any of the perils specified above to such portion or portions of the said insured Premises (including fixtures and fittings the property of the landlord therein) as may be occupied by the Insured as tenant including all costs and expenses of litigation arising there from incurred by the Insured with the written consent of the Company;
PROVIDED THAT:
the liability of the Company under this Extension shall be limited to R5 000 000 (five million rand) in respect of any term of insurance.
Trauma counselling benefit
The Company will pay for professional counselling following trauma as a result of theft, attempted theft, hold-up or hijacking at the insured premises;
PROVIDED THAT:
the Liability of the Company in respect of any one occurrence shall not exceed R10 000 (ten thousand rand).
