What is not covered
We do not cover legal costs or expenses incurred in any legal ma er rela ng to the following:
Ma ers where no provision is made for legal ac on, such as:
○ adop on, servitude, or the declara on of rights
○ administra on of estates, or the dra ing of legal contracts and appeals
○ debt counselling
Business ac vi es
○ your business or occupa on
○ the ren ng or le ng of property
The following legal ac ons
○ copyright, patents and similar rights
○ civil ac on by you against your a orney in his professional capacity
○ civil ac on between the holders of this policy as listed in the Schedule, except when this involves a family ma er
○ any ac on involving us (Hollard)
○ any tra c o ence that can be se led by an admission of guilt
○ any ac on involving an insurance excess
○ applica on procedures and ex-parte applica ons
○ any ac on outside South Africa
Unauthorised or non-legal costs
○ any costs by a orneys other than our preferred a orneys appointed by us
○ any costs not speci cally authorised by us
○ any costs that do not appear on our tari s
○ any non-legal costs
Professional sports
○ professional sports of any descrip on State security
○ any act aimed at overthrowing the government or threatening its safety Violence, dishonesty or immorality
○ any act or omission where we reasonably believe there is an element of violence, dishonesty or immorality.
