Motor Claims Procedures
The Hollard Insure SVR department will:
10.4.2 appoint an agent to uplift the vehicle.
10.4.3 provide the binder holder or internal claims handler with more information and the requirements to secure the release and upliftment.
10.4.4 confirm the condition of the vehicle with the agent and decide in view of the SAIA Code of Salvage Conduct to uplift the vehicle to the salvage contractor or forfeit the vehicle to the state.
10.4.5 confirm vehicle cancellation and police clearance have been completed.
10.4.6 dealer stock the vehicle in Hollard Insure’s name as a salvage vehicle.
10.4.7 advise Hollard Insure and note in the register if the vehicle is recovered.
Recovered vehicles may be disposed of only once Hollard Insure has taken lawful possession of the vehicle and under the terms and conditions of the policy. This means that the salvage contractor can sell the vehicle only once the claim has been paid AND we have provided the salvage contractor with the original deregistration certificate. If a claim is rejected – advise the claimant to uplift the vehicle and also advise the salvage contractor that we are no longer liable for storage.
The stolen vehicle register must be submitted to the Hollard Insure SVR team, monthly to match the binder holder records with Hollard Insure ones.
Receipt of salvage monies into the Hollard Insure Claims account will be allocated to the claim settlement account. If a recovered vehicle is salvaged, all conditions as per the salvage contract/s must be adhered to and monitored monthly by the binder holder.
